Garland Civic Theatre, Garland, Texas
I went back to the original Broadway set design for this show and then started to change it up. This show is in a difficult theatre to design for. The style of theatre is thrust, stadium, kind of a black box feel, and sits at an angle when you enter! So with that in mind some of the acting ares had to be on platforms. I wanted the furniture to look real and chipped. This Greater Tuna had more set dressing than most but worked great.
"The set is cleverly designed to allow easy entrances and exits from multiple points spread evenly across the space..."
