Having coffee with my friend, also a set designer, tomorrow. She just came back from the set design master class in NYC. She even got to see Matilda The Musical as part of the class, can not wait to hear about it.
I am getting ready for a production meeting for Spamalot in a week or so. This show will be the largest musical for set changes I have ever designed, 20 changes in total!

The past couple of weeks has been really great, yet weird.
Daffodil Girls closed to great reviews the other week and just this week the set was reconstructed for an encore performance, four shows. It was weird having the set back up....but it a good way. I did make enhancements in this go around. The floor had a whole new design, surprisingly the new color made the set look like it had been entirely repainted. Changed a thing here and their, switched a chair out, looked better this time around. This was first time bring a set back to life. Thank you Ben for a great set! I will try and post some of the enhancements I made later this week. Went to the theatre today to see the build of my Daffodil's set...again! The show had a very successful run a couple of weeks ago and closed. Due to popular demand the show is reopening with couple of changes to the set and two new cast members. The floor will be a different design, a couple of new pieces of set dressing will make its way on the set.
If you missed it the first time around you must see it this time around. See what the reviews are telling what you already know. Click here to buy your tickets. |
