Welcome foolish mortals to the haunted mansion! Those are the words that echo the halls of the famous haunted mansion at Disneylands around the globe. I spent a good year or two researching this dark ride before riding the one in California, it has every theatre trick in the book. It's got multiple sharktooth scrim effects, key lighting, a dramatic ballroom scene, a loose story line and your narrirated throughout the ten minute ride. Why do I love this ride other than the mention above? The attention to detail is crazy amazing stupid. This ride is located in Disneyland California, Disneyworld Flordia, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Tokyo. The difference is the facade depending which one you are lucky enough to attend. I really want to go to the one in Paris. They have created a special score that sounds lush and this haunted attraction has more of a storyline. Click on the pictures below to visit each mansion. Also checkout www.doombuggies.com to listen to the lush score from Phantom Manor and visit each mansion in great detail. The site will even take you back stage to see how some of the tricks are done. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, I even based one of my set designs, The Butler Did It, on this attraction! Take a ride right now on Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris. You will need to click below to ride.

Working on a hand watercolor model for a movie at the moment. Lots to do!
Halloween time approaches and it does not seem complete until I visit Thrillvania. Thrillvania houses eight haunted attractions in East Texas. The crowning piece is Haunted Verdun Manor, a two story antibellum mansion surrounded by a foggy marsh with its own dragon that breaths fire! Every thing that I just wrote is true. You have to make your way up to the house by crossing an over grown marsh and bridge. When you start making your way across the bridge this is when you are greeted by a dragon that breaths fire in your face. Thrillvania uses lots and lots a pyrotechnics which adds to the effect. A creppy fog hovers over the grounds, hose misters that are planted carefully, makes this look like something out of the scary movies. I really like the attention to detail they have put in this place. The attraction is so great that it made it on the Travel Channel! This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
Going to go see The Tempest tonight presented by The Dallas Theatre Center. I have never seen this before. I did a quick search to see what this show is about and I was suprised, kinda does not have a plot. I hope the show is not too long, it will be, it's Shakespeare, because the seats at the Wyly theatre could be softer. I could bring my own cushion with me?!
Here is a sneek peek at the Pillow Talk set. I took this during final dress rehearsal while taking notes.
Almost done with Pillow Talk! Just a few more hours and fussing around with the set and she will be ready to be seen on Thursday. Thanks Clare for your help and knowledge today.
