MainStage Irving-Las Colinas just announced their upcoming season a few days ago—and while the news may be fresh to everyone else, I’ve already been hard at work behind the scenes. I’m thrilled to share that I’m designing Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, opening November 6th at the Irving Arts Center and running through November 22nd. This is shaping up to be a truly spectacular production, and I can confidently say—it’s one you won’t want to miss. From the moment this project landed on my desk, it was clear that Cinderella would be no small undertaking. This is a grand, visually rich show that calls for transformation, magic, and a sense of wonder at every turn. It’s the kind of production that invites big ideas and bold choices, and I’ve already begun diving deep into how to bring that world to life on stage. Right now, I’m in the early phases of the design process—sketching concepts, exploring visual themes, and collaborating closely with the director to shape the overall look and feel of the production. There’s a lot to consider: how we create seamless transitions, how we capture the elegance and fantasy of the story, and how we surprise the audience in ways that feel both magical and theatrical. As with any great design, it’s a journey—and we’re just getting started. I’ll be sharing more about the creative direction, inspirations, and design details as the process unfolds. There’s so much more to come, and I’m excited to bring you along for the ride. For now, mark your calendars: November 6th through November 22nd at the Irving Arts Center. This is Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella—and it’s going to be something special. Click the image below for more information how to get tickets.
