Things are starting to slow down for a second. In the past couple of weeks I have gained projects, lost projects and received design inquiries halfway around the world. Was pretty shocked to see a design inquiry from Dubai....Dubai I tell you. I ended up turning a project away after the design consultation process. Why? I didn't want to over commit myself to too many projects and then drag my heels to get them done. It's just not fair to the client. However, it is good news that I am getting this busy! Last night I received a ticket to see Flashdance the Musical. I really enjoyed the show, a lot!
I hope you read my friends post on the Rule of Three. It talked about when at least three set pieces are moving, changing and flying it is more magical and mysteries to the audience. Flashdance has (I counted) between 12-15 things changing at once with projection on top of that most of the time. You didn't know where to look, it was exciting. Sets slid on tracks, curtains swept across the stage, two story sets moved, slid and morphed into lighting fast set changes. As I mentioned earlier this month the set must keep the same pace as the show. Flashdance is a pretty upbeat production with slick dancing, the set mimicked that. Get out your legwarmers and dance like a maniac and dance like you have never danced before.
