So I am on the lookout for some new living room pillows. I bought the pillows, in the picture below, from one of my favorite stores. I think they were correct in color, fabric, and stuffed wonderfully with down feathers. They were taken back because they were out of scale with the rest of the furniture. My apartment is only 615sqft and dates back to the early 1960's. Furniture was smaller back then because people were too. So over the years I have had to find small scaled stuff. I think I will have to explore fabric stores and make custom pillows for the sofa. Oh, and by the way this sofa is a lot of fun, you can arrange it in a dozen or so configurations.
Here is a silly video from the 1930's of what clothes would be like in the year 2000. I think that they are really talking about Lady Gaga. Here is a scary, alomost dead on predition from the late 1950's. I have enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. The thing that impressed me the most on the show was the set. I have also noticed that other prime time shows that came on this season had upped the anty with the sets. I think it makes the show better when you have dazzling sets to dance or sing on. I really wanted Katherine Jenkins to win but that didn't happen. Even though she came in second she is still really gifted with her pitch perfect voice. Enjoy her in the video below singing Andrew's Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies. Last night I saw the spoof Silence of the Clams. Let's just say it's a raunchy version of the brilliant Silence of the Lambs. A couple of parts of the show had me on the floor with laughter. I also bumped into the guy who designed the set and we chatted a little. It looks like they (the company) is renting a national tour set for their next show. They need a painter to touch up chips and gashes from all the cities the set get loaded and unloaded from the trucks. That person is me.....possibly. Let's see how this plays out. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Well, four years, twenty some odd set design later and I finally get to take a vacation! I am really looking forward to this, 25 days left before I leave. Myrtle Beach is the vacation spot. All electronics will be left at home, no checking email, no nothing and it will be great! This is a great clip from a show that needs to come back on TV! I think it is looking like I am going to go see Phantom in Las Vegas before it closes (September). This Phantom has the 90 million dollar set and costume design that you can't see anywhere else in the world. It's the ultimate for any Phantom phan to see. To the left is a picture of the touring production of the opening number. To the right side of the blog is a picture me with the world famous chandelier. Here is the trailer to this cute little show I designed. |
My blog is all about the design process, set design, designers I love and architecture. Take a look behind the curtain!
